PatchSpace helped prime Times Too's development process with a Lean-Agile workflow, Agile requirements, and Behaviour-Driven Development practices with RSpec and Cucumber.

Having come back to developing software after a decade of managing developers I need to reboot my developer skills and immerse myself in the latest Agile development methods. I engaged Ash as a my guide in learning ways and means to create software that was high quality in design and effectively targeted at actually solving a problem. We worked together to produce Times Too - an online learning platform that places a real emphasis on learning times tables and helping children develop core mathematical skills.
Ash took me from mere novice in Agile tools and techniques to being a daily practitioner of Behaviour Driven Design, using story cards and limited work-in-progess to focus on delivering the features that children and teachers really need. By pair programming with Ash, and using the practices he implements to stay on track with the development process, we were able to rapidly prototype a viable first version of the website.
With the new skills that Ash helped me develop, I've since been able evolve and refine the site quickly and effectively, introducing new features while retaining the inherent quality of the code. This has given me a real confidence that I am building a solid platform for the future.
I'd certainly recommend taking time to pair program with Ash and to reap the benefits of working with someone who clearly spends a lot of time thinking about the best way to develop software.
